Last June Knowledge is Good published a post titled “Graduation Day at the Army War College and KIG Goes for the Gold”. In that piece, I plugged two books written by a young Air Force officer who I was privileged to meet at the graduation. The piece contained a link to Amazon.com and urged readers to buy the books through this blog site so that Knowledge is Good would receive a sales commission (i.e., a kickback) from Amazon. Then I forgot all about it.
A few days ago, Amazon deposited $25.70 in my bank account. Like the little kid in Animal House who had the Playboy bunny fly through his window and land on his bed, I looked skyward and exclaimed, “Thank you, God!”
Then it occurred to me that I should be thanking (a) all the readers who bought those books through this blog, and (b) Jeff Bezos, the formerly evil genius who founded Amazon and owns the Washington Post. I now realize that I had Jeff all wrong. He’s actually an American hero and will continue to be one as long as he keeps kicking back to KIG.
To keep the money coming, KIG now features an Amazon ad which links to the Amazon.com website. If you access Amazon.com by clicking on the ad and make a purchase, KIG will receive a sales commission through the Amazon Affiliates program. There will be no additional or increased cost to you.
So, whenever you get the Amazon itch, please consider accessing Amazon.com through KIG’s ad link. If you do, it will be for a good cause: several bartenders depend on me for their livelihoods. I’m asking you to do it for their wives and kids.
