Following the death of George Floyd in 2020, Black Lives Matter received over $90 million from corporate America and other donors. Now comes word that for the 2022 tax year the Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation ran an $8.5 million deficit and incurred a nearly $10 million decrease in the value of its investment accounts. Reportedly, BLM has “blown through” two-thirds of the $90 million.
This news came after BLM was required to shut down its online fundraising due to compliance and transparency issues in several states. Reportedly BLM spent approximately $12 million on luxury homes in Los Angeles and Toronto as well as $10.5 million for services purportedly rendered by companies owned or operated by friends and family of Patrisse Cullors, the organization’s Executive Director.
Here’s a brief video of Cullors – who self-identifies as a “trained Marxist” – saying that she finds the requirement to file IRS Form 990 (the charitable organization tax return) to be “triggering” and an example of how tax laws have been “weaponized” against black people.
I know how she feels. Every April 15 when I have to file my tax return and write a large check payable to the U.S. Treasury, I, too, feel triggered and am convinced that the tax laws have been weaponized against me.
Anyhow, in April 2022, Cicley Gay, a “non-profit advisor”, was named chair of Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation in order to clean up the mess. Her qualifications for the job include the fact that Gay filed for personal Chapter 7 bankruptcy in 2005, 2013 and 2016.
You can’t make this up.
Where the story will end remains to be seen. I am researching the topic and may have more to say later.
Meanwhile, I was recently interviewed by Kara McKinney of One America News about the death of George Floyd, the event that launched BLM. In answering Kara’s questions, I reiterated my long-standing belief that the police did not kill Floyd.
You can watch the interview by clicking on the picture below.
Then this morning I was interviewed by Dan Proft and Amy Jacobson on AM560 Chicago’s Morning Answer regarding Special Counsel John Durham’s report. You can hear that interview by clicking on the following picture:
Finally, yesterday I did an interview on the Conservative Commandos Radio Show hosted by Rick Trader. Over the years I have been a regular on Rick’s show but have never posted the interviews since I have no means of isolating and retrieving the video/audio. Nevertheless, I urge you to check out the CCRS website by clicking on this link.
