Ever since the start of the Ukraine war, I have been a fan of the analytical commentary of retired Army Colonel Douglas MacGregor. During the Gulf War, he led our forces to victory over the Iraqi Republican Guard in the largest tank engagement since World War II at the Battle of 73 Easting.

But, in addition to being a decorated combat veteran, he taught history at his alma mater, West Point, and served as an advisor to the Secretary of Defense in the Trump Administration.

Col. MacGregor is a soldier/scholar with a solid and impressive grasp of history and current world affairs.

More recently, I have come to rely on his analysis of the rapidly deteriorating and dangerous situation in the Middle East. In particular, I find his discussion of the possible consequences of Israel’s proposed invasion of Gaza and the United States’ role in militarily supporting Israel to be spot on and alarming.
