Once again I recently had the privilege of appearing on AM 560 Chicago’s Morning Answer with hosts Dan Proft and Amy Jacobsen.
Days before my appearance, I was contacted by their very capable producer who told me that the subject would be my article in The American Spectator titled The Wages of Covid – Part One.
Okay, COVID, got it. I pulled out my research files and prepped accordingly for the interview.
So, early one morning last week, there I was in my home office with my COVID files spread before me, locked, loaded and primed to answer any and all questions about the assigned topic. The producer patched me through to Dan and Amy, and I went live on air.
Unfortunately, the interview started with questions about the Trump administration’s removal of the American Bar Association from the vetting of federal judicial candidates and went down from there. No mention of COVID.
Suddenly I felt like I was back in college faking my way through an oral exam on a subject that I hadn’t studied all semester.
Back then, as a feckless and witless 19 year old undergraduate, I was much better at dodging questions and hiding my ignorance. But now, at my advanced age, I seem to have lost a step or two in the making-it-up-as-I-go-along department.
Which is why you will hear me start to babble as my aged brain vapor locks at the beginning of the interview. Otherwise the interview seemed to go alright.
Take a listen.
