Tonight President Trump nominated D.C. Circuit Court Judge Brett Kavanaugh to serve on the Supreme Court. A graduate of Yale college and law school, Kavanaugh clerked for Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy and teaches law at Harvard, Yale and Georgetown. Since 2006 he has served with distinction on the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals, the second highest tribunal in the nation. The above picture shows my wife’s Uncle Charlie landing on Utah Beach seventy-four years ago today. He is the soldier in the right foreground. He made it off the beach and fought across France and into Germany before the war in Europe ended.
